The Cheyenne International Film Festival announced its program at the LINK Gallery. There are 35 films highlighted by two Oscar-nominated films. Live action short “Instead of Abracadabra” by Swedish producer Pat Eklund screens on Saturday night. CIFF honors Cheyenneite and Oscar-nominated producer Daniel Junge and his film “The Last Campaign of Governor Booth Gardner, as well as “Come Back to Sudan” and “No Strings”.
The CIFF Call2Action program links local non-profit organizations with films to give them an opportunity to discuss their work with non-traditional audiences. This year, Call2Action includes “The Last Campaign of Governor Booth Gardner” co-presented by the Laramie County Library Foundation; “The Sacred Hoop” co-presented by the Southeast Wyoming Intertribal Powwow Association; and “Wings of Silver” co-presented by local veterans’ organizations.
Encampment producer Candy Moulton is moderating a panel about Women in Film and screening her film “In Pursuit of a Dream” on closing night, along with “On the Trail: Jack Kerouac in Cheyenne”. John Allen Cassady (son of beat icons Neal and Carolyn Cassady) will be making a personal appearance.
