Student teams produce programs for community TV channels and web streaming. WCM has taught for Wind River Tribal College, Laramie County Community College, Carbon County Higher Education.

Wyoming Creative MediaPlex
WCM plans to establish the Wyoming Creative Media-Plex as a part of the Hynds Capitol Core project. The MediaPlex will consist of a home for the creative community education programs it has been developing over the past few years in Cheyenne.

WCM taught the first Laramie County Community College off-campus life-long learning classes in the Hynds Building in 2010.

WCM’s sister organization, Boulder Community Media (BCM) managed 4,000 sq ft in the Boulder Creative Media-Plex located a half-block off the Pearl Street Mall in Downtown Boulder, Colorado.

The Boulder MediaPlex was a creative environment in which BCM conducted its community education sessions about video production, storytelling, for students of all ages.

The Wyoming Creative MediaPlex is planned to include offices for other resident producers, editors; a production space, screening room / meeting /classroom for teaching, networking and collaboration. WCM programs include experiential learning through “hands-on” use of equipment, writing stories and seeing their work on the screen.

  1. Al –

There might be some opportunities for WCM on the Wyoming PBS show Wyoming Chronicle this year, when it becomes more of a magazine show, with roll-in -packages and video montages. We should chat about it in the next month or two.

Are you coming to this reunion of sorts over the Fourth of July?
