Creative MediaPlex – Relocating to Cheyenne, Wyoming
Boulder Community Media (BCM) managed 4,000 sq ft in the Boulder Creative Media-Plex located a half-block off the Pearl Street Mall in Downtown Boulder, Colorado. It was closed when the lease expired in 2010. The Boulder MediaPlex was a creative environment in which BCM conducted its community education sessions about video production, storytelling, for students of all ages. The MediaPlex included offices for other resident producers, editors; a production space, screening room / meeting /classroom for teaching, networking and collaboration. BCM provided experiential learning through “hands-on” use of equipment, writing stories and seeing their work on the screen. Wyoming Community Media (WCM), the sister organization to BCM, plans to resurrect the Creative MediaPlex as a part of the Hynds Capitol Core project. The MediaPlex will consist of a home for the creative community education programs it has been developing over the past few years in Cheyenne.
